RD1 Gold AR37 Pasture Pack

This pack includes Alto AR37 perennial ryegrass and is aimed particularly at areas affected by black beetle or porina. It combines proven ryegrass genetics and broad insect protection.

Alto ryegrass has been a top yielder in the Agriseeds Advanced Yield Trial system throughout the past three years, showing very good growth across all seasons.

AR37 endophyte is performing well in the upper North Island with good control of adult black beetle.

The Gold AR37 Pasture Pack is not a 'silver bullet' for black beetle problem areas - as with all ryegrass pastures, its persistence is significantly influenced by pasture management, so this needs to remain a priority for farmers.

Alto is a robust, persistent cultivar, with good feed quality as well as good dry matter (DM) production. Metabolisable energy (ME) levels averaged 12.4 in well-managed pastures. Together, its yield and quality can lift carrying capacity and improve stock performance.

If you struggle to maintain control of spring growth, Alto has another benefit - it flowers 14 days later than standard ryegrass varieties. This extends the period of leafy, high quality growth and gives you less to worry about.
